Group Captain Esther Ijeoma Odok hails from ozuitem in Bende LGA of Abia state. She was born into a family of 7, comprising 5 boys and 2 girls. Being the second to the last born in the family Esther was treated as the favourite of the whole family. This earned her different pet names. Group Captain Odok finished her primary education from Golf Course primary school, Aba and proceeded for her secondary school level of education at Girls Secondary School (GSS), Umuahia, While in the school, Esther distinguished herself academically and in other leadership function and was chosen as the Senior prefect of her set.

On leaving Gss umuahia Esther continued her tertiary education in Alvan Ikoku College of education, owerri in Imo state. All through her stay in Alvan, Esther was a prize winner in all the academic exams and ended up with a Distinction result and the National Certificate in Education (NCE). Thereafter, Esther gained direct entry admission (UNN) and graduated in 1986 with A Bachelor of Science Degree in Education/Biology with 2nd Class Honours (upper Division )and then went for her youths service at the Command Secondary School, Ibadan in Oyo State.

Esther was enlisted into the Nigerian Air Force in 1987 and after the initial military training was posted to the then Air Force Girls Military school Jos in 1988. She served initially as an instructor of Agricultural and integrated science and later become the principal instructor in the science Department. In 1992, Esther was drafted into full administration of the school as the Matron. By October 1998, She was appointed the commandant of the same school, and in December 2000 the routine military posting moved her to the headquarters- Directorate of Education as a Staff officer in charge of the library.

Esther has served in different units in the Nigerian Air Force as well as the Tri- service Institution Namely Armed Forces Resettlement Centre Oshodi in Lagos State. From there, She was posted Back to now Air Force Girls Comprehensive School, Jos in 2009 to complete the work she started In 1998.

Group Captain Odok is a registered teacher with the teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Esther has also completed her Professional Military Courses (both junior and senior courses in the Armed Forces Command and staff College (AFCSC), jaji in Kaduna State Group Captain Odok finished the senior course with an award as the best overall graduating student in her department and the First Female officer to have achieved that in the history of the Institution.

Esther is married and loves reading Christian Literatures and books on positive thinking and Leadership. She enjoys Lawn Tennis and Volley Balling as well as watching Christian Programmes and preaching.
