AFSS Makurdi School rules are premised on the need to show good examples for others to follow. The School rules and regulations could be grouped into general and examination rules.

a. General Rules.     The general rules are stipulated for maintenance of high moral standards by students both within and outside the School. These general rules are as follows:
(i)     Students are to be loyal and obedient to the School Authority.
(ii)     Morning assembly is compulsory for all students and there should be no noise on the assembly.
(iii)    The School uniform is short sleeve shirt and short knickers for boys in the junior Secondary; skirt and blouse for girls (all in Air Force colour) with brown sandals and white stocks. Shoes are not to be worn to school and wearing of canvas is only allowed for sports.
(iv)   Students must maintain a neat physical appearance viz short hair (or neatly weaved hair style optional for girls) trimmed nails and student ear-rings for girls.
(v)   Students should not paint their mouths and finger or foot nails they are not to apply any form of make up.
(vi)   Chewing gum and eating along the road or in the class room is not allowed.
(vii)  Students are not to litter their environ with pieces of paper, orange or banana peelings in the school premises.
(viii)  Smoking and any form of drug addiction is forbidden.
(ix)   Lateness to school or classes is not allowed.
(x)    Students who are absent from school for any reason are to report to their class teachers within 24 hours.
(xi)   Students are not to enter the staff room without permission.
(xii)   All laboratories are out of bound to student after class and school hours.
(xiii)  Any student who fails to make 70% attendance may not be allowed to sit for the school or external examination.
(xiv) Only prefects and staff may punish a student.
(xv)  Senior students are not to bully the junior ones
(xvi) No student should administer corporal punishment on any other student.
(xvii) Fighting within or outside the school premises is a serious offence which may lead to expulsion
(xviii)  Stealing and rumor mongering are not allowed.      
(xviiii)  No club or society should hold any activity or party within or outside the school premises without the permission of the school Commandant.
(xx)  Any school property damaged whether in the classroom, laboratory or workshop must be paid for or replaced.
(xxi)  students are to desist from coming to school with huge sums of money.
(xxii) Any student who uses dangerous objects to harm others either in defense or otherwise would be expelled.
b. Rules on Examinations. Rules on examination are meant to guide the behavior of students during exams as well as the successful conduct of exams in the school. The School’s rules of examinations are as follows:
(i)     Absence from all school organized examinations without permission would attract serious disciplinary action from the school authority.
(ii)     Only students who attain 70% and above class attendance would qualify to write school internal and external examinations.
(iii)    Students who exhibit poor academic performance may be made to repeat or withdrawn if he/she has once repeated.
(iv)   Students in SS 1 and SS 2 need to pass in at least 5 subjects including Mathematics and English Language in order to be promoted to the next class or as may be determined from time to time by the School Management Board.
(v)   No Student shall repeat any class twice. Any repeating student that either fails promotion examination or commit an offence that attracts a one year suspension shall be withdrawn from the school.
