AIR FORCE SECONDARY SCHOOL,MAKURDI

The Air Force Secondary School Makurdi was established in line with the policy of Headquarters Nigeria Airforce to run Day Secondary Schools at its Commands in other to provide secondary education to the children of Nigerian Air Force Personnel. Air Force Secondary School Makurdi is situated in the Nigerian Air Force Base at Kilometer 10 along Makurdi Gboko Road. At its present site, it has nine blocks for both academics and administrative activities. The Lawrence Catholic Church in the north, and Protestant Church in the west as well as Single Officers’ Quarters in the east.

The school opened officially for academic activities on 31st October, 1983 with Miss D.O Arimah as the co-ordinator of programmes. On 1st of February 1984, Mr Abimbola O . Adesina resumed duty as the first Principal of the School. Subsequently, Commandants were posted to head the school. At its inception, the school had student population of sixty-seven shared into two arms of nine permanent tutors and eight Youth Corps members.
